Sarah Silverman preachin’ some body love (x)
I used to be SUPER uncomfortable with compliments. I didn’t trust that the person was being honest, other times I felt like I didn’t deserve it. I’ve also struggled with feeling like I need to give them a compliment back to take the attention off me….
It really helped me to practice acknowledging and accepting compliments. It’s a self-esteem exercise that pushed me to own my shit and acknowledge it out loud.
“Thank you, I really appreciate that.”
“Thanks, that is really nice of you.”
“Thanks for noticing, I worked really hard on it.”
challenging at first, but these days I feel a lot more comfortable with it.
