i think it’s worth mentioning that learning to love yourself is a lifelong process.  self-love is about building a strong, healthy relationship with yourself.  just like any other loving relationship, you’ll feel the positive effects soon after you begin - but that’s just the starting line :)

I used to be SUPER uncomfortable with compliments.  I didn’t trust that the person was being honest, other times I felt like I didn’t deserve it. I’ve also struggled with feeling like I need to give them a compliment back to take the attention off me….
It really helped me to practice acknowledging and accepting compliments.  It’s a self-esteem exercise that pushed me to own my shit and acknowledge it out loud.  
“Thank you, I really appreciate that.”  “Thanks, that is really nice of you.”“Thanks for noticing, I worked really hard on it.”
